Today, I wrote a poem for you, one which I hope will serve as a reminder to you that we, via courage, strength of mind, and the Light, cannot be wrecked by struggles but that, instead, we can transform the struggles into opportunities for the better. When the pain, distress, and even suffering come to suffocate your peace of mind, know that you have the power to stand in the light so that through the rays of those priceless, glimmering beams you can squeeze the peace and goodwill for yourselves. You have the power to say "no" to fear. If this means turning off your favorite news channel or stepping away from social media, please do. It's easy to listen to the news and see all that which is and those who are "the broken." My life taught me that we are all broken, in some shape or another, for as long as perfection doesn't exist in mankind there is no such thing as untainted flawlessness. But, my life also taught me that without hope life is very difficult to deal with, nearly impossible at times. Moreover, life taught me that we must be strong regardless of what happens, on Election Day, and move forward hopeful for a better tomorrow. Choose not to fear the future. Instead, turn your eyes to the Light which has the greater power, one to change things around for the better for us all, embracing it with arms wide open. My love for humanity, carved by my hand and mind in this poem which I entitled "Voices," via hope which I've poured into the black ink, it's a gift for you, for us, The People. May my poem inspire you to continue to pursue that which is good in this life, included but not limited to peace, enlightenment, wisdom, hope, and love. Below, you'll also be able to listen to my recital and a few, personal thoughts I wish to share with you, prior to Election Day, on why this day should not be a dreadful affair but in fact a reason to celebrate our differences with others. May hope, peace, and love thrive.
Voices
a poem by Carmen A. Cisnadean
Blatant voices, spoke to us, Shouting to those inner holes, Frisson wanting sense to free Chains at independence's rear.
Voices fear inside us, stirred, As bright flames woke up the earth, Dormant notions born at birth No faux pas can try unearth.
Freedom is a rightful right
Cradled by a good divine
Summoned by a Light so bright
Angels for its rays do fight.
Blatant voices handed over, Opening of heart to be
Reason's locket, truth as key,
Parting from unrighteous pleas.
Voices now proclaim the truth Where the mind becomes anew
Peace is ours to renew,
No faux pas can that remove.
Peace is our righteous cry
Cradled by a good divine
Summoned by a Light so bright
Angels for its rays do fight.
